On Saturday, 10th June, World No. 17 Germany will play Italy in the FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League 2023 at 10:30 pm (IST).
The fifth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League began on June 6 and will continue until July 23, 2023. The tournament is divided into Pool A and Pool B, with matches currently taking place in Nagoya, Japan, and Ottawa, Canada. Following the preliminary round, the final round will be held in Gdańsk, Poland, featuring eight qualifying teams. Among these teams, the top seven, along with host nation Poland, have secured direct berths in the knockout stage.
On June 9th, the opening match saw Italy, ranked second in the world, experiencing a straight-set defeat against the sixth-ranked United States. The scoreline ended 3-0 in favor of the United States (15-25, 18-25, 19-25). In another thrilling encounter, fourth-ranked Brazil emerged as winners in a five-set battle against eighth-ranked Argentina. France secured a four-set victory over China in the third match.
The fourth match was an exciting match between top-ranked Poland and underdog Bulgaria, ranked 23rd in the world. Despite Bulgaria showing promise initially, they were ultimately defeated by the Polish team. This was Bulgaria’s second loss in three games after losing to China in yet another nail-biting contest. Seventh-ranked Japan achieved a 3-1 victory over Serbia, bouncing back after losing the first set. The Netherlands secured a convincing 3-0 win against Germany.
On Saturday, 10th June, World No. 17 Germany will play Italy in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League 2023 at 10:30 pm (IST). Both teams have lost two of the matches they have played in this edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League. However, as the bottom-placed teams in the standings face each other on Saturday (IST), one of the teams will finally be able to open their account. Considering Italy is the second-ranked team in the world, their form has been really poor as they have lost both games in straight sets against Argentina and the USA.
