The FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League for the year 2023 kicked off on the 30th of May and is set to reach its conclusion on the 16th of July. Arlington, Texas, is gearing up to host the finals, while the initial round of matches spanning from pools 1 to 6 are taking place across various global cities including Bangkok, Nagoya, Hong Kong, Brasilia, and Antalya. The structure of the tournament remains unchanged from the previous year, with 16 participating teams and a sum of 104 matches being played.
During the initial phase, which takes place in three weeks, each team is slated to compete in no less than 12 matches, putting them against a diverse range of opponents in terms of rankings. This implies that they will be battling against teams in the rankings ladder. The top eight teams amassing the most points by the end of this phase, will earn their place in the final round. This decisive round will comprise the quarterfinals, semifinals, and the ultimate battle for supremacy in the grand finale. The hosting country directly secured a spot in the preliminary round.
