The CEV Women’s European Volleyball Championship is happening from August 15 to September 3, 2023, and is organized by the European Volleyball Confederation. The contest features 24 teams from various countries and the matches will take place in four different European locations: Belgium, Estonia, Germany, and Italy. During the last championship in 2021, Italy won the title by beating Serbia 3-1. Currently, 16 teams have secured their positions in the pre-quarters and will fight for a place in the quarter-finals.

On August 27, 2023, Bulgaria will play Slovakia in a Round of 16 preliminary match at the CEV Women’s European Volleyball Championship 2023. Bulgaria placed second in the Pool B, behind Italy, with four wins in five matches to end their preliminary stage campaign. Meanwhile, Slovakia came in third in Pool D with three wins in five games at the women’s Eurovolley.
