Amanda Ribas, a name that has become synonymous with strength, determination, and skill in the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). She was born on August 26, 1993, in Varginha, Brazil. And has carved a niche for herself in the fiercely competitive world of MMA. Her journey from a small town in Brazil to the global stage of the UFC.
Marcelo Ribas, Amanda’s father and himself a martial artist, kickstarted her journey into the world of MMA at a tender age by introducing her to judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Thanks to his early guidance, Amanda earned black belts in both disciplines- setting up an incredibly strong foundation for what would become a successful career in the sport. From the start of her professional MMA career in 2014, Ribas displayed an undeniable talent. Winning her first six fights swiftly earned recognition and admiration within the MMA community. Impressed by her remarkable performance, UFC signed her up for promotion in 2017.
Ribas faced a setback due to a doping violation that delayed her debut in the UFC. However, she did not let this deter her. In 2019, Ribas made a successful debut by defeating Emily Whitmire. Later on October 12, 2019, Ribas faced off against Mackenzie Dern during UFC Fight Night: Joanna vs. Waterson. She won that fight via unanimous
Ribas was then scheduled to face Carla Esparza on UFC 256. But it was later revealed that Esparza had to pull out of the fight due to undisclosed reasons. As a result, Ribas ended up being booked against Michelle Waterson on January 24, 2021, during UFC 257. But Waterson was later forced out of the event and Ribas had to face Marina Rodriguez. She lost that fight via technical knockout in the second round.
Ribas, known for her success in the MMA octagon, maintains a relatively private life offstage. However, it is no secret that she is romantically involved with Julio Arantes. The MMA passion that this couple share has unquestionably brought them closer, evidenced by sharing their training and life glimpses on social media.
