UFC 293 has suffered a setback as a result of an injury to Casey O’Neill which has forced her to withdraw from her scheduled bout against Viviane Araujo. O’Neill suffered a broken nose leading to her withdrawal from the event. Stepping in to take her place is Jennifer Maia. She recently defeated O’Neill in a previous matchup at UFC 286. The news was initially reported by MMA Junkie.

The event is set to take place on September 10 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney. She is currently without a scheduled headliner. However, multiple reports suggest that a middleweight title fight between champion Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland is a potential frontrunner for the main event.
