Both fighters were trying hard but McCann was careful and didn’t want to go all out. She landed some good punches but it didn’t last for long. Julija saw her chance and went for a takedown. She got McCann’s back and didn’t let go. McCann tried to get away but Julija was too strong.
Julija knew what she was doing on the ground and locked in an armbar. It was tough for McCann to escape and she had to tap out. Julija won the fight in just 1 minute and 55 seconds of the first round. It was only her second win in seven UFC fights but this was a big one.
It was a tough night for McCann. She was hoping to do well in front of her home crowd in England. But things didn’t go her way. This was her second loss in a row both in the first round. Before that she had three wins in a row. So it’s a bit disappointing for her.
Julija’s win shows that you should never underestimate the underdog. She came in as the less favored fighter, but she proved everyone wrong. It was a great performance by Julija, and she should be proud of herself.
Tom Aspinall made a big comeback at UFC Fight Night 224. It was a whole year since he fought but he came back strong. He faced Marcin Tybura in the main event and it was an impressive performance. He won by TKO just over a minute into the first round with some powerful punches.
The fight happened at The O2 in London which was where he got injured last time against Curtis Blaydes. But this time, he showed everyone what he is capable of. He was quick and had really fast hands. He caught Tybura off guard with a strong punch that sent him to the ground. Aspinall didn’t stop there, though. He kept hitting Tybura until the referee had to stop the fight.
With this win, Aspinall proved he is one of the best in the heavyweight division. He had already beaten some tough opponents before this fight like Alexander Volkov and Serghei Spivac.
