Lee initially joined the UFC as a lightweight fighter and made his debut in February 2014, facing Al Iaquinta. Although he suffered a loss in his debut, Lee rebounded with an impressive four-fight winning streak that quickly garnered attention. However, his winning streak came to an end when he faced Leonardo Santos in the fall of 2015.
Lee regrouped and embarked on an impressive five-fight run that put him in the mix for a shot at the title. His notable victories led him to a highly anticipated matchup against Tony Ferguson for the interim lightweight championship at UFC 216 in October 2017. Unfortunately, Lee was submitted in the third round, and from there on his career took a downward turn.
For the next few years, Lee struggled to find consistent success. He endured four losses in his next six fights. He found himself bouncing back and forth between the lightweight and welterweight divisions, seeking a resurgence in his career. Lee even stepped into the world of boxing and secured a victory over Diego Sanchez in March of this year. However, it appears that his return to the octagon against Rinat Fakhretdinov marked his final appearance in professional MMA.
