No. 5 UFC featherweight-ranked Calvin Kattar is one of the top forwards in the promotion. Known for his heavy hitting, he prefers to act standing in his pocket. However, according to official UFC stats, Kattar is the punchiest fighter in the top 10 featherweight divisions with an absorption rate of 7.15 hits per minute. Following him is Brian Ortega, who has a strike absorption rate of 6.66 which puts him in third place. In third place is former champion Max Holloway, whose number is 4.89. 

According to the post, the most strikes Calvin has ever thrown was against Jeremy Stevens at UFC 249, when he scored 6.65 strikes per minute. He absorbed 7.29 strikes per minute from “Lil Heathen.” His lowest number of strikes was against Renato his Moicano at UFC 223, averaging 2.73 strikes per minute. He absorbed his 7.73 punches from the Brazilian in the fight. Calvin absorbed his 17.80 bpm when he faced Max Holloway at UFC Fight Island 7. The fight was a one-sided beatdown from start to finish, with Kattar able to throw 5.32 strikes per minute.

He had the fewest number of strikes against Ricardo Lamas at his UFC 238, absorbing an average of 2.93 strikes per minute. His batting average against Llamas was 5.32 bpm. Kattar ranks fourth in the total number of significant punches landed in the featherweight division. Max Holloway tops the leaderboard with 7.24 strikes per minute the rate.

Champion Volkanovski hits 6.79 bpm and he is second. Sodiq Yusuff is third with his strike rate of 5.29 per minute. Calvin Kattar will be battling Arnold Allen for the top spot in the division this weekend. Allen is now on an 11-game winning streak, earning his first-round KO win over Dan Hooker. Calvin Kattar has the experience of leading Allen in 29 career games. Kattar also has five rounds in his last four fights. His only career loss comes from a unanimous decision.
