Wu Yibing will look to build on his embarking form in the ongoing Dallas Open despite the fact that he hasn’t made it to the later stages of any of the major tournaments he has played in the last couple of months. He lost to Kovacevic in the Cleveland Challenger in the final after beating the likes of Sandgren, Kozlov, Kirchheimer, and Mayo. At the Australian Open, he lost to Moutet right in the first round and to Popyrin in the qualifying round at the Adelaide International 1. He beat Mmoh in the round of 32 stage by 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, and Shapovalov in the round of 16 matchup of the ongoing Dallas Open with the score ending 6-7, 4-6. In the quarter-finals, he beat Mannarino by 6-3, 6-4, and in the semis he knocked out Fritz by 7-6, 5-7, 4-6.
John Isner hasn’t been in great form recently and looks to start the year on a high. He hasn’t made it to the later stages of any of the major tournaments he has played in the last couple of months. He lost to Mannarino at the Australian Open right in the first round and also in the opening round to Barrere at the ASB Classic. He made it to the round of 32 stage of the Paris Masters losing to Rublev after beating Otte in the first match. He beat Tseng in the round of 32 matchup of the ongoing Dallas Open with the score ending 7-6, 7-6 and in the round of 16 tie, he beat Altmaier by 6-3, 7-6. In the quarter-finals, he beat Gomez by 7-6, 7-5, and in the semis he knocked out Wolf by 3-6, 7-5, 7-6.
