Daria Sergeyevna Kasatkina is a professional tennis player from Russia who was born on May 7, 1997[note 1]. She is presently the top singles player in Russia. She debuted in the top 10 of the WTA rankings near the close of the 2018 season and reached a high of No. 9 on August 8, 2022. She has one doubles victory and five singles titles on the WTA Tour. Kasatkina has already achieved a number of significant victories and has climbed into the WTA singles rankings' top 10. She has made clear indications that she is here to stay for a very long time and is expected to carry over her success from the junior circuit to the senior tour. Despite playing in just five tournaments in 2014, Kasatkina had her finest year on the junior tour. At the Grade 1 Trofeo Mauro Sabatini, she advanced to the singles and doubles finals and won the singles competition. Senior Career

Kasatkina rose swiftly through the professional rankings, reaching No. 32 in the world at the age of 18 and taking home her maiden WTA victory at the Charleston Open in 2017. She gained notoriety in 2018 after coming in second place to fellow rising star Naomi Osaka in the Premier Mandatory Indian Wells Open, a match that was considered as encapsulating a new era in women’s tennis. At the Kremlin Cup and the St. Petersburg Trophy, both held at her native Russia, Kasatkina also captured the biggest victories of her career. First WTA title

At the age of 18, Kasatkina quickly climbed the professional rankings to No. 32 in the world. In 2017, she won her first WTA match at the Charleston Open. She became well-known in 2018 after finishing behind fellow emerging star Naomi Osaka in the Premier Mandatory Indian Wells Open, a match that was regarded as defining a new era in women’s tennis. Kasatkina also won the biggest triumphs of her career at the Kremlin Cup and the St. Petersburg Trophy, both of which were hosted in her native Russia. Prior to 2019, Kasatkina enjoyed three successful seasons on the WTA Tour, but in 2019 she struggled and placed in the bottom part of the top 100. But in 2021, she made a comeback and won two titles. Just before turning 20 years old, she captured her first WTA singles title at the Charleston Open. In the championship match, she defeated fellow adolescent Jeena Ostapenko in straight sets.

Grand Slam Success

She participated in her first Grand Slam main draw in 2015, reaching the third round of the US Open. She advanced to the third rounds of the Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon the following year. She participated in all of the women’s doubles competitions at the Grand Slams that year, as well as their main draws. 2018 was among her career’s best years. Both the French Open and Wimbledon quarterfinals were reached by her. She achieved her career-high singles rating of No. 10 in October of that year.
