Tennis player Nadia Natacha Podoroska, an Argentinean, was born on February 10, 1997. She participated in the 2020 Summer Olympics. Podoroska has won 14 singles titles, seven doubles titles, one doubles title on the WTA Tour, one singles victory on the WTA Challenger Tour, and one doubles title on the ITF Circuit. Podoroska is a member of the Argentina Fed Cup squad and has a 12-8 win-loss record. She defeated Kazakhstani player Yulia Putintseva by retirement to advance to the second round and Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova to advance to the third round to earn a spot for Argentina in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. Podoroska became the first Argentine woman to play singles in the round of 16 in the Olympics in the twenty-first century. Only two female athletes from Argentina made it there 25 years ago, Gabriella Sabatini and Inés Gorrochategui in Atlanta in 1996.

Podoroska was born on February 10, 1997, in Rosario, Santa Fe Province. She was raised in Fisherton, a middle-class suburb built by railroad workers in the late 1880s. She is one of the three children born to Marcelo and Irene; although her grandparents were Ukrainian, she is not at all fluent in the language. Her mother is a pharmacist, while her father first worked as a watchmaker before becoming a pharmacist. Nadia started practicing tennis at the Fisherton Athletic Club when she was five years old, being the first member of her family to do so.
