Gregoire Barrere is a French professional tennis player who was born on February 16, 1994. On October 7, 2019, he attained his highest ATP singles ranking of No. 80. Additionally, on April 26, 2021, he attained a career-high ATP doubles ranking of No. 161. Barrere has won six ITF Futures singles titles, five ATP Challenger Tour singles titles, five Challenger doubles wins, and six ITF singles titles throughout his career. At the 2016 French Open, where he was given a wildcard and made his Grand Slam main-draw debut, Barrère was defeated by David Goffin in the opening round. He received a wildcard to the 2018 French Open, where he fell short of Radu Albot in the opening round despite holding a two-set advantage. He was able to qualify for and advance to the second round of two Grand Slam tournaments in 2019—the US Open and Wimbledon Championships. He also made it as a wildcard to the second round of the French Open, where he fell to 10th seed Karen Khachanov in four sets after taking the third set 6-0. In the same year, he also succeeded in getting into the main draws of a few ATP 250 competitions.

He made it to the second round of the 2020 Australian Open as well, making it to this stage of all four Grand Slams. For the third time in his career, he competed in the 2021 Play In Challenger final in Lille but fell to Zizou Bergs. He received a wildcard to the French Open in 2021. He received his seventh wildcard into the 2022 French Open’s main draw in May. In this Major, he defeated Taro Daniel in five sets to win his second match. In the 2022 Open d’Orléans, he defeated Quentin Halys, the fourth seed, to win his fourth Challenger title. He won the title for the sixth time since 2010 by defeating four players ranked in the top 100, including the second-seeded Hugo Gaston, the third-seeded Richard Gasquet, and the fifth-seeded Marton Fucsovics. On October 3, 2022, he rose nearly 40 spots to become the world’s No. 116. After winning his second Challenger championship of the year in Brest, he rose nearly 20 spots in the standings to No. 92 on October 31, 2022.
