Anna Bondar, a tennis player from Hungary, was born on May 27, 1997. On July 18, 2022, she attained a career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 50, and on October 24, 2022, she attained a doubles world ranking of No. 47. She is now Hungary’s top WTA player. On Hungary’s Fed Cup squad, Bondar has a 5-4 record in wins and losses. Bondar improved during the 2021 campaign. At the Poland Open in Gdynia in July, she advanced to her maiden WTA Tour quarterfinal and won her first two WTA Tour matches.

The first step was the $60K Collonge-Bellerive tournament, where she advanced to the semifinals by defeating all of her opponents in straight sets. The next week, Anna Bondar reached the quarterfinals of the WTA Challenger Tour tournament Karlsruhe Open. Two weeks later, she won her first significant ITF championship in both singles and doubles categories at the $80K Wiesbaden. Her journey continued seven days later, when she competed in another $80,000 final in Le Neubourg. She did not win the title this time, falling to Mihaela Buzărnescu. She earned her first WTA 125 title in early November, defeating Diane Parry in the final of the Argentina Open. She won the $60K Santiago the following week, securing her debut in the top 100 as world No. 90 on November 15, 2021.

She made her Grand Slam debut in singles and doubles at the Australian Open. She made her first Grand Slam quarterfinal in doubles at the French Open, partnering Greet Minnen. She reached the semifinals of the Budapest Grand Prix without dropping a set, defeating second seed Martina Trevisan. As a result, she will enter the top 50 on July 18, 2022. She won her first WTA championship in doubles, teaming with Kimberley Zimmermann, at the 2022 Internazionali Femminili di Palermo.
