Alex Molan, a professional tennis player from Slovakia, was born on December 1, 1997. On May 23, 2022, Molan attained his highest ATP singles ranking of No. 38 in the world. His career-high ATP doubles ranking of 268 was attained on June 14, 2021. He is now ranked as the top singles tennis player in Slovakia. Molan has advanced to three ATP 250 finals: the 2021 Belgrade Open, the 2022 ATP Lyon Open, and Morocco. With a record of 6 victories and 5 defeats, including a 2-2 outcome in the ATP Challenger finals, he has advanced to eleven singles ITF finals. He has also competed in five career doubles ITF finals, winning two and losing three, including a 1-3 record in ATP Challenger finals.

In Marrakesh, Molan defeated top seed Felix Auger-Aliassime to earn his first Top 10 victory. He then defeated Botic van de Zandschulp and Laslo Djere to route to his second ATP final of his career. Ultimately, Molan was defeated by David Goffin in three sets. Due to this, Molan’s ranking increased by 15 spots, making his top 50 debut on April 11, 2022. He made his professional tennis debut in the 2022 Wimbledon Championships, when he defeated Pedro Martnez in his opening match to win this Major. He defeated Marcos Giron in the second round of this Major to go to the third round for the first time before falling to Taylor Fritz. He was defeated by Thiago Monteiro in the opening round of the US Open.

When Molcan was ten years old, his parents separated. Two years after the divorce, the situation deteriorated worse. The lefty moved 400 kilometres west to Bratislava, a city near the Austrian border, with his mother Andrea.
