Tennis player Alycia Marlene Parks was born in the United States on December 31, 2000. On February 6, 2023, she attained a career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 51, and on January 30, 2023, she achieved a doubles ranking of No. 52. She qualified as an alternate for the 2021 MUSC Health Open in Charleston, where she made her WTA Tour debut in the main tournament. She won over a qualifier in Grace Min before falling to top seed Ons Jabeur in the second round. She equaled Venus Williams‘ record for the fastest serve by a woman in the history of the US Open during her first-round match (129 mph).

2022-23 Journey

She entered her sixth main-draw match of her career in 2022, qualifying for the second round of the German Open in Berlin. As a result, on June 20, 2022, she rose to a career-high, moving up 34 ranks from 169 to No. 135. She defeated former world No. 1 Karolna Plková in a qualifying match at the Ostrava Open, where she was ranked 144, to get her maiden top-20 victory.  She then defeated Maria Sakkari, the fourth-seeded and world-ranked player, to earn her maiden top-10 victory and advance to her first-ever WTA quarterfinal. She and Caty McNally won her first WTA Tour doubles championship at the same competition. As a result, on October 10, 2022, she debuted at No. 79 in the singles top 125 and the doubles top 100. After winning two consecutive WTA 125 singles championships and one in doubles in December, she rose to the top 75 in singles and the top 60 in doubles.

She was beaten by Sára Bejlek in the second round of the 2023 Australian Open qualifying draw as the top seed.  In the same competition, Parks and Oksana Kalashnikova, playing in doubles for the first time at this Major, advanced to the third round. They were defeated by Barbora Krejková and Katerina Siniaková, who went on to win the title. At the Lyon Open, she defeated seventh-seeded Danka Kovini, fourth-seeded Petra Marti, and Julia Grabher to go to her first WTA semifinal. She beat Maryna Zanevska to get to her first WTA final. She then overcame top seed Caroline Garcia, earning her first top-5 victory, and went on to win her first WTA championship. As a result, on February 6th, 2023, she rose to a new career-high singles position of No. 51.
