Tennis player Catherine “Caty” McNally was born in the United States on November 20, 2001. On 4 April 2022, she attained her greatest doubles ranking of No. 11 in the world. She attained her highest singles position of world No. 90 on January 30, 2023. She is most known for her doubles pairing with Coco Gauff, which the public and press have dubbed “McCoco.” She has three of her six WTA Tour doubles victories alongside Gauff, and the two made it to the 2021 US Open final. Along with Taylor Townsend, she advanced to the 2022 US Open Major final. On the ITF Circuit, she has also won six doubles championships. McNally has won one title on the WTA Challenger Tour and two on the ITF Circuit in singles. She also advanced to the third round of the 2020 US Open. Starting career

In 2016, 2017, and 2018, McNally came in second place at the Wimbledon junior doubles competition. At the doubles competition of the 2018 French Open, she and Iga Swiatek, who were both 16, won her first Grand Slam junior championship. She competed in the same competition and advanced to the girl’s singles final, where she was defeated by Coco Gauff. She and Gauff won the girl’s doubles gold at the US Open in September 2018. After being a losing finalist in 2016, McNally was a member of the United States team that won the Junior Fed Cup in 2017.

2022 journey

It was McNally’s fifth WTA tour victory when she teamed up with Anna Kalinskaya to win the doubles championship at the St. Petersburg event in February. They defeated the Polish duo of Alicja Rosolska and Erin Routliffe in the final. On February 14, 2022, she reached a career-high ranking of No. 16 thanks to the victory. At the Washington Open, she and Kalinskaya advanced to their second doubles final of the year by defeating the second-seeded Belgian team of world No. 1 in doubles Elise Mertens and Greet Minnen. The top-seeded Americans Jessica Pegula and Erin Routliffe defeated them in the championship match.

She and Taylor Townsend reached the US Open doubles final before losing to Krejková and Siniaková. The following month, at the Ostrava Open, she reached the quarterfinals of the singles before being defeated by Iga Witek. For the first time, she teamed up with Alycia Parks in doubles. They were unseeded, but they defeated the first and fourth seeds on their way to the final when they defeated third seeds Rosolska and Routliffe to win the title. McNally’s sixth doubles title. She defeated Anna-Lena Friedsam in the WTA 125 Midland Classic in November, winning in straight sets, and on November 7, 2022, she debuted in the top 100 of women’s singles rankings at position 94.
