Dominic Stricker and Jiri Lehecka will take on one another in the semifinal of the 2022 ATP Next Gen Finals on November 11.
When Lorenzo Musetti and Jack Draper, two of this year’s hardest groups, were placed in the Red Group with Dominic Stricker, his chances of having an impact in the ATP Next Gen Finals were somewhat diminished. But he turned in a pair of standout performances to win the group and go to the semifinals with one game remaining. The Swiss player in Milan has so far been nearly unbeatable on serve, suggesting that he enjoys playing on these faster courts. In his three matches, he only lost twice, and it was in the second round robin match in tiebreakers against Lorenzo Musetti, the tournament favourite.
Jiri Lehecka, the world’s #74 player, utilised a good draw and completed the necessary tasks to earn a spot in the semifinal of the ATP Next Gen Finals. He defeated Matteo Arnaldi and Francesco Passaro in two bouts as the favourite, and Brandon Nakashima in the lone match he lost as the underdog. The Czech would be pleased with the outcome thus far because he lacked form and confidence going into this campaign. He has only won five of the last 14 games played on the tour, and he hasn’t won back-to-back games since claiming the title at the August Liberec Challenger.
Dominic Stricker and Jiri Lehecka are scheduled to take on one another in the semifinal stage of the 2022 ATP Next Gen Finals on November 11. The tournament is scheduled to be held from November 8 to November 12, 2022.
The eight players at the ATP Next Gen Finals 2022 have been divided into two groups, these are the Green group and the Red group. Each player will play one match against everyone in their group and the top two from each will make it through to the semi-finals. The top finisher of one group will face the second finisher of the other. The winner of those two matches will then meet in the final to decide who will win the 2022 ATP Next Gen Finals crown.
