In the 2023 WTA Linz Open quarterfinal on Friday, Petra Martic of Croatia will take against unfortunate loser Clara Tauson of Denmark.

In a two hours and 44 minute match on Thursday, Petra Martic defeated Belgium’s Alison Van Uytvanck after surviving a second round scare. The world number 34 broke the Belgian player early in the first set to take a 3-0 lead, but she lost the next four games in a row to go down by a break. Both players traded numerous minibreaks, but Van Uytvanck won the set and compelled a decision. Van Uytvanck broke early in the final set, but Martic recovered in the middle and won the match with a dominant performance in the tiebreak.
