The round of 16 of the 2022 Canadian Open will see a high profile match between sixth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime and ninth seed Cameron Norrie. The two veterans will face off against one another in the round of 16 of the ATP 1000 competition. The Brit was up against a tricky opponent in the form of Botic van de Zandschulp in the previous round but managed to record a dominant 6-1, 6-2 win. Norrie hit a couple of aces in the match and won four out of five break points. His win percentages on the first and second serves were 83% and 54% respectively. One of the most respected players in the world today, Norrie has been decent so far in the tournament and will be hoping to go deep into the Montreal event.

Seeded sixth in his home ATP 1000 event, Felix Auger-Aliassime had to dig deep to beat Yoshihito Nishioka in a round of 32 match to make it to the last 16. The score at the end of the match was 7-6 (8-6), 6-4. Auger-Aliassime was willed on by the crowd at the Center Court as he stamped his dominance on the second set and brought the tie home.

Cameron Norrie and Felix Auger-Aliassime are scheduled to face one another in the round of 16 of the 2022 Canadian Open on Friday, August 12. The tournament is scheduled to run from August 8 till August 15.

2022 Canadian Open Schedule

The 2022 edition of the Canadian Open is set to begin from August 8 and go on until August 15. The men’s final is scheduled to be on August 15 and the women’s one is set to be held on August 14. There will be six rounds of play in the main draw excluding the qualifiers.
