Botic van de Zandschulp has been in incredible form this season and his performances at The Championships have backed that statement up.
Rafael Nadal’s 2022 Wimbledon campaign certainly has been a highly entertaining and impressive one. The Spaniard’s most recent success came against Lorenzo Sonego on Saturday in the third round. Nadal won the match in straight sets, the score-line reading 6-1, 6-2, 6-4. The match was never in doubt as the 22-time Grand Slam winner proved his class on the big stage yet again. He scored one ace and converted six out of eight break points en route to victory. Nadal also won 12 service games in the match.
Botic van de Zandschulp has been in incredible form this season and his performances at The Championships have backed that statement up. In the third round against Richard Gasquet, van de Zandschulp won a thriller of a contest that saw a tie-break in the third set. The score at the end of the match was 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (9-7), 6-1. It is the first time the 25-year-old has made it this far at the grass court Grand Slam and he will be hoping to upset the second seed.
Nadal and van de Zandschulp are scheduled to face each other on Monday, July 4 in the round of 16 of the 2022 Championships. The timing of the match has not been decided yet. The Championships is scheduled to begin on June 27 and go on until July 10. There were a number of exciting matches on July 4 as the likes of Nadal, Kyrgios, Fritz and de Minaur and others will be in action.
