Second seed Lorenzo Musetti got off to a quick start in Milan, defeating Chinese Taipei’s Tseng Chun-hsin in straight sets. The world number 23 broke Tseng in the first game of the match, but Chinese Taipei quickly responded with a break, only for the Italian to reclaim the lead in the next game. Musetti didn’t make another mistake throughout the game. He won the first set and broke once in each of the following two sets to win the match 4-2, 4-2, 4-2 in an hour and 11 minutes. The 20-year-old, who is 33-25 on the tour this season, earned 895 points on his first delivery. The Italian had a strong season, winning his first two titles in Hamburg and Napoli, defeating Carlos Alcaraz and Matteo Berrettini, respectively. He has also made huge strides in the rankings, breaking into the top 30 for the first time.

Dominic Stricker was hyped up as he made a spectacular start to the year-ending finale for 21-and-under golfers on Tuesday. The World No. 111 didn’t drop a set, winning three tiebreaks in line against the more favored Jack Draper in the Red Group. As a result of the victory, the Swiss player moved up to second place in the group. Stricker won 86% of his first-serve points and served 14 aces in the match. Striker has won two Challenger titles this year and finished second in another. The Swiss’s victory on Tuesday set the tone, and he will look to capitalize on the momentum.
