Martic has had a fine season so far, winning the recently concluded Ladies Open Lausanne after beating Olga Danilovic in the final. Martic also had a decent showing at Wimbledon where she was beaten in the round of 16 by eventual winner Elena Rybakina. Falkowska last participated in the ITF German 04A competition, losing to fourth seed Sinja Kraus in the round of 16.
Petra Martic and Weronika Falkowska will face each other in the first round of the 2022 WTA Poland Open on Monday, July 25. The WTA 250 competition is scheduled to start from July 25 and end on July 31 this year.
