Mackenzie McDonald has been in stellar form for the past few months and he will be adamant to perform well in the Indian Wells Masters as well. At the Swiss Indoors, he shocked the entire tennis world by lifting the title after going past players like Rune, Alcaraz Garfia, Bublik, Kecmanovic, and Huesler. At the Australian Open, he made it to the fourth round losing to Lehecka in what was a four-set thriller. At the Paris Masters, he made it to the semi-final stage losing to Rune, and at the European Open, he finally lifted the trophy beating the likes of Korda, Gasquet, Evans, and Guinard. At the Delray Beach Open, he made it to the semi-finals losing to Fritz, and also made it to the quarter-finals of the Mexican Open where he lost to Tommy Paul. In the ongoing Indian Wells, He beat Krajinovic in the first-round matchup by 6-3, 6-0.
Holger Rune has not been quite consistent recently and looks to start the year on a high. He needs to keep his composure and would be adamant to lift the trophy at the Indian Wells Masters. He lost to Cressy at the Open Sud De France in the semis finals after beating Barrere and Huesler in the first two matches. He made it to the finals of the Swiss Indoors but lost to Auger-Aliassime but he corrected that mistake by lifting the Paris Masters trophy by beating Djokovic in the final. At the Australian Open, he made it to the fourth round losing to Rublev after beating players like Humbert, Cressy, and Krajinovic on the way. He made it to the semi-finals of the Mexican Open where he lost to de Minaur.
