Laslo Djere has impressed a lot of people with his influential gameplay for the past couple of months and will be adamant to prove his haters wrong by finally lifting a title at the ongoing Rio Open. He couldn’t make it past the second stage mark in the majority of his last tournaments, losing to Dimitrov at the Australian Open, to Alcaraz at the Argentina Open, and to Marterer at the Maharashtra Open. At the Paris Masters, he failed to make it through the qualifying stage losing to Huesler, and at the ASB Classic, he made it to the quarter-finals losing to Lestienne. In the ongoing Rio Open, he beat Bagnis in the first-round matchup as Bagnis retired midway through the match when Djere was winning 6-2, 3-2.
Dusan Lajovic has been playing in the ATP professional tournaments for like a few months now and he still hasn’t been able to make it out to the later stages of any of the competitions. He played at the Australian Open a few months back getting knocked out by Shapovalov in the first round. At the Cordoba Open, he was shown the exit door by Ramos-Vinolas in the round of 16 stage and at the Argentina Open, he made it to the quarter-finals finally losing to the eventual champion Alcaraz. He won the Maspalomas Challenger last year beating the likes of Steven Diez, Llamas Ruiz, Lopez Morillo, Andreev, and Chepelev. In the ongoing Rio Open, he beat Schwartzman in the first-round matchup by 6-1, 6-4.
