Carlos Alcaraz, the current champion, is the tournament's top seed and is arguably the favourite to win it.
On Monday, the ninth Rio Open will get underway. There will be some well-known names competing, even though the majority of the top players will not be present. These include Cameron Norrie, the second seed, and reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz. The ATP 500 tournament also features players like Dominic Thiem, Lorenzo Musetti, and Diego Schwartzman. Alcaraz won the Rio Open the previous year, and the Spaniard has a decent chance of retaining his crown. A clay-court competition called the Rio Open is held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since its inception in 2014, it has been a yearly event in the ATP 500 series, with the exception of 2021.
Rafael Nadal defeated Alexandr Dolgopolov 6-3, 7-6 to win the tournament’s inaugural edition. The clay-court competition in Brazil has also produced winners like David Ferrer and Dominic Thiem. The previous year’s competition was won by Carlos Alcaraz, who defeated Diego Schwartzman in the championship match. The Jockey Club Brasileiro in Rio de Janeiro will host the Rio Open.
