Madison Keys had a rocky start to the US Open Series as she transitioned from grass to hard courts. A second-round loss in San Jose was followed by an opening-round loss in the Canadian Open in Toronto, the latter to Asia Muhammad, who was 3/1 to win that match. Keys advanced to the semifinals of the Cincinnati Open after defeating both the French Open and Wimbledon winners, Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina. She was defeated in a three-set battle by Petra Kvitova. Keys would have liked to do something similar at the US Open, but after winning a few rounds, she was drawn up against Iga Swiatek, and her campaign was over. 

Viktorija Golubic, who was once ranked 35th in the world, has fallen to 90th in the rankings, as evidenced by his few and far between wins. The Swiss player reached the quarterfinals of the Warsaw Open but has yet to advance to the second round of any top-level WTA event since. Sure, she won a round at a WTA 125 tournament, but that is all she has accomplished. Recently, Golubic had to go through qualifiers to make the first round of the US Open, but Jessica Pegula ended her stay in the opener. She defeated Daniela Vismane and Anna-Lena Friedsam in this round to re-enter the main draw.

The 2022 Tallinn Open is scheduled to commence on September 26 and go on until October 2 this year. The tournament will have five rounds of play excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.
