13th seed Karen Khachanov has been out of form for quite some time now and looks to get himself back on track as soon as possible and he feels that the Indian Wells Masters will be the ultimate platform for him to prove himself. At the Australian Open, he pulled something out of the top drawer and surprised a lot of tennis fans in the world by making it to the semi-finals where he lost to Tsitsipas after battling in what was a four-set thriller. After a month-long gap, at the Dubai Tennis Championship, he couldn’t go past the first round losing to van de Zandschulp. At the Qatar Open, he made it to the quarter-finals getting knocked out by Auger-Aliassime. In the ongoing Indian Wells, he beat Wu Yibing in the first-round matchup by 4-6, 1-6.
