Ons Jabeur had beaten Mirjam Bjorklund in the first round and Katarzyna Kawa in the second.
Third seed Ons Jabuer will face French tennis player Diane Parry in the third round of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. The Tunisian had beaten Mirjam Bjorklund in the first round and Katarzyna Kawa in the second. Both matches saw Jabeur play with all the confidence in the world as she won them both in straight sets. Against Kawa, the third seed won by a score of 6-4, 6-0. She hit two aces and scored five out of six break points. Jabeur has been in fine form on grass this season, winning the Berlin Open earlier this month.
Diane Parry’s Wimbledon campaign has been one of certainty and quality so far. The unseeded Frenchwoman beat 31st seed Kaia Kanepi 6-4, 6-4 in the first round and followed it up with a comfortable 6-3, 6-2 win against Japan’s Mai Hontama. In the match, Parry scored a couple of aces and converted five out of six break points. She also won seven service games on the day. However, on paper, Jabeur should have a simple victory.
Jabeur and Parry are scheduled to face each other on Friday, July 1 in the third round of the 2022 Championships. The timing of the match has not been decided yet. The Championships is scheduled to begin on June 27 and go on until July 10. There were a number of exciting matches on July 1 as the likes of Jabeur, Sakkari, Ostapenko and others will be in action.
