In the Hall of Fame Open's round of 16, second seed and four-time champion John Isner will face Peter Gojowczyk.
The 37-year-old John Isner has a 15-13 win-loss record thus far this season, with his best finish coming as runner-up in Houston. The American player entered Wimbledon as the 20th seed after falling out of the French Open in the third round. Enzo Couacaud of France gave him a run for his money in the opening round, but he eventually prevailed 6-7(6), 7-6(3), 4-6, 6-3, 7-5. Isner proceeded to defeat two-time winner Andy Murray by scores of 6-4, 7-6(4), 6-7(3), and 6-4 in order to get to the third round, where he was defeated by Jannik Sinner in straight sets.
Gojowczyk, on the other hand, has only triumphed in two of his 11 games in the main draw so far this year. The German defeated Brandon Nakashima 6-4, 6-4 in the Mexican Open in Acapulco for his first victory. The following victory for Gojowczyk came on Monday at the Hall of Fame Open in Newport, where he defeated Ugo Humbert 7-5, 6-4. The last time they met, Gojowczyk defeated Isner in in the last 16 of the Delray Beach Open in 2018.
John Isner and Peter Gojowczyk will take on each other on Wednesday, July 13 in the round of 16 of the 2022 ATP Hall of Fame Open. The competition is scheduled to commence on July 11 and conclude on July 17 this year.
