Gijs Brouwer hasn’t been in good touch lately and has been losing all the recent tournaments he has played in. He will be adamant to make a change in fortune and perform well at the Rotterdam Open. He couldn’t make it past the first stage mark in most of his last tournaments, losing to Virtanen at the Vilnius Challenger and to Collignon at the Koblenz Challenger. At the Quimper Challenger, he lost to Fils after winning the first match against Pospisil, and at the Australian Open, he lost to Diaz Acosta in the qualifying stage. In the ongoing Rotterdam Open, He beat Huesler in the first-round matchup by 6-3, 7-5, and Rune in the round-of-16 matchup by him getting a walkover midway through the match with the scores settled as 4-6, 0-4.
Tallon Griekspoor has been in decent form recently and looks to keep his head high on the Rotterdam Open as well. He hasn’t made it to the later stages of most of the major tournaments he has played in but he shocked the entire world by winning the Maharashtra Open by beating the likes of Bonzi, Karatsev, Cilic, Cecchinato, and Munar. But at the Australian Open, he got knocked out in the third round itself by Tsitsipas, and at the Paris Masters, he couldn’t make it past the qualifying stage losing to Sonego. In the ongoing Rotterdam Open, He beat Ymer in the first-round matchup by 6-7, 5-7, and Zverev in the round-of-16 matchup by 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
