Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic made it through to the quarter-final of the 2022 US Open in the women’s doubles category and will face the pair of Storm Sanders and Caroline Dolehide. Garcia and Mladenovic pulled off an upset in the round of 16 when they beat fourth seeds Jelena Ostapenko and Lyudmyla Kichenok by a score of 6-4, 6-2. The French duo scored four aces in the match and converted five out of 10 break points. Dolehide and Sanders managed to cause an upset of their own as they beat seventh seeds Xu Yifan and Yang Zhaoxuan. The Aussie-American pair won the match 6-2, 6-3 after recording three aces and five out of nine break points.
Garcia/Mladenovic vs Sanders/Dolehide are scheduled to face each other on Wednesday, September 7 in the quarter-final of the 2022 US Open. The fourth and final Grand Slam of the season began on August 29 and will go on until September 11.
