Miomir Kecmanovic and Felix Auger Aliassime are scheduled to face each other in the second round of the 2022 ATP Swiss Indoors on October 27.
Felix Auger Aliassime can choose to conserve energy and give it his all at the Paris Masters the following week, where he will have more opportunities to rack up points and ensure his qualification for the ATP Finals in Turin next month. Felix Auger Aliassime cannot earn points until the semifinal this week. But the Canadian chose to maintain his winning streak, giving it his best to beat Marc-Andrea Huesler, the ATP Sofia champion from a month ago, in the opening round of the ATP Basel tournament this week. In three sets, 6-7 6-4 6-4, he served 17 aces, gave up only six games on his first serve, and did not encounter a breakpoint.
This week, Miomir Kecmanovic similarly dropped the first set of his first-round match in the tiebreaker but won the following two sets to advance through Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, 6-7 6-2 6-1. The Serbian played in this contest for the first time indoors this season. The former Junior No. 1 is currently looking to reach his first quarterfinal on indoor hard courts since ATP New York in 2020. He has produced nine quarterfinal (or higher) results on the main tour in the past 10 months. On the surface, it was his sole quarterfinal (and semifinal) performance at this level.
Felix Auger Aliassime and Miomir Kecmanovic are scheduled to take on one another in the second round of the 2022 ATP Swiss Indoors on Thursday, October 27. The tournament is scheduled to be held from October 23 to October 30, 2022.
The ATP Swiss Indoors will have five rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The competition’s main draw is set to commence on October 24, 2022 and conclude on October 30, 2022.
