Felix Auger Aliassime and Alexander Bublik are scheduled to take on one another in the last eight of the 2022 ATP Swiss Indoors.
In the second round of the ATP Basel tournament against Miomir Kecmanovic, Felix Auger Aliassime was faultless and played so wonderfully the entire time that he dubbed it the best match of his life. “The best game I have ever played was this one. I won’t in my career. As a young child, “After finishing a 6-1 6-0 victory, he said. To make his debut at the ATP Finals in Turin next month, the gifted Canadian teenager required consistent results week in and week out. Surprisingly, he has met the challenge. In the previous two weeks, he won consecutive championships in Florence and Antwerp, and this week, in Basel, he is on the verge of gaining ground.
Alexander Bublik, in contrast to Felix Auger Aliassime, doesn’t have anything to lose in the remaining games of the season, and he has been performing admirably under no pressure. He won in straight sets over clay courter Albert Ramos Vinolas and the out-of-sorts Aslan Karatsev to advance to the Basel quarterfinals. On indoor hard courts this year, the powerful Kazakh is just five victories behind Felix Auger Aliassime (14/4 vs. 19/3). His two top performances on hard courts in 2022 were winning his first ATP championship in Montpellier and falling just short of Lorenzo Sonego in Metz last month.
Felix Auger Aliassime and Alexander Bublik are scheduled to take on one another in the last eight of the 2022 ATP Swiss Indoors on Friday, October 28. The tournament is scheduled to be held from October 23 to October 30, 2022.
