Jack Draper and Chun-Hsin Tseng will take on one another in the round-robin stage of the 2022 ATP Next Gen Finals on Thursday, November 10.
After an impressive run, third seed Jack Draper would have hoped to finish on a high note, but he didn’t get off to a good start in Milan, losing in straight sets to Dominic Stricker in his first match of the ATP Next Gen Finals. The Briton, who had returned from a disintegration in the first set, dropped all three tiebreak sets. He was unable to generate more breaking opportunities during the match, despite having seven break points. Stricker, on the other hand, only converted one break point, and that was in the first set. The Swiss, on the other hand, won the crucial moments in the tiebreak and was ecstatic after defeating the top 50 player.
Tseng Chun-hsin, the sixth seed, was defeated by second seed Lorenzo Musetti in his opening match on Tuesday. Musetti broke the Chinese Taipei four times during the match, but he only converted one of three break points during the hour and 11-minute defeat. He is at the bottom of the Red Group as a result of his drubbing in the first round. Musetti had a strong serve and won 60% of the points in the match. Tseng has a mountain to climb now. The world number 90, who is 5-8 on the tour this year, will need to bring his A-game on Wednesday to have a chance of progressing.
Jack Draper and Chun-Hsin Tseng are scheduled to take on one another in the round-robin stage of the 2022 ATP Next Gen Finals on Thursday, November 10. The tournament is scheduled to be held from November 8 to November 12, 2022.
The eight players at the ATP Next Gen Finals 2022 have been divided into two groups, these are the Green group and the Red group. Each player will play one match against everyone in their group and the top two from each will make it through to the semi-finals. The top finisher of one group will face the second finisher of the other. The winner of those two matches will then meet in the final to decide who will win the 2022 ATP Next Gen Finals crown.
