Stefanos Tsitsipas advanced to the semifinals of the Paris Masters with a straight sets win over Tommy Paul on Friday. The Greek saved 7 of 7 break points against the Americans, all of which came in the first set’s first two service games. He tightened his serve as the match progressed and didn’t face a single break point in the second set, dropping only eight points on his serve to win 6-2, 6-4. Tsitsipas had three break chances and converted all three to earn his 60th victory of the season. The world number five’s incredible run has included seven finals, but he has only won two of them.
Novak Djokovic extended his current winning streak to 12 matches and his Paris Masters winning streak to 12 when he defeated Lorenzo Musetti in an hour and 15 minutes. The world number seven won 86% of the points on his first delivery, converted 5 of 11 breakpoints, and couldn’t save the only break point he faced in the match in the third game of the second set to win 6-0, 6-3. The Serb improved his Paris Masters record to 44-8 and is one win away from reaching his eighth Paris Masters final. The six-time champion is aiming for his 39th Masters 1000 title, as well as his 91st on the tour. Djokovic, who won consecutive championships in Tel Aviv and Astana in his previous two events, is attempting to win his fifth championship of the year.
