Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas will face one another in the group stage of the 2022 ATP Finals on Monday, November 14.
On Monday, world No. 3 Stefanos Tsitsipas will face 21-time Major champion Novak Djokovic in the group stage of the 2022 ATP Finals. Tsitsipas’ season highlight has been successfully defending his Monte-Carlo Masters title. He also won his first grass title in Mallorca. The Greek advanced to five more finals, including those in Rotterdam, Rome, Cincinnati, Astana, and Stockholm. He reached the semifinals of the recently concluded Paris Masters. Tsitsipas will compete in the ATP Finals for the fourth time in a row. He won the title on his debut in 2019, but has failed to advance past the group stage in the last two editions.
Due to his stance on vaccinations, Djokovic missed the Australian Open, the US Open, and a couple of Masters 1000 events. However, whenever he has had the opportunity to play, he has mostly performed admirably. The Serb’s most notable victory of the year came at Wimbledon, where he won his 21st Grand Slam title. Djokovic added three more titles to his collection, winning the Italian Open in May and the Tel Aviv Open and Astana Open in recent weeks. He was also the favourite to win the Paris Masters, reaching the final after a 13-match winning streak. He was defeated in three sets by Holger Rune, a teenager.
