Borna Coric recently won the biggest title of his career at the Cincinnati Masters, reviving his career and boosting his confidence and morale. He later discussed the significance of building on that outstanding performance and avoiding failure in the weeks that followed. Unfortunately, he was unable to maintain the level in his next match, losing to Jenson Brooksby easily in the second round of the US Open and being taken to the limit by Enzo Couacaud in the first. In order to reach the Shanghai Masters final in 2018, the former world no. 12 defeated Roger Federer and Juan Martin Del Potro. However, between 2015 and 2019, he was eliminated early from nearly all other Asian tournaments he participated.

The 2022 season’s first half saw Radu Albot perform poorly, but the second half has seen him bounce back and perform admirably. He won the championship in his most recent contest at the Istanbul Challenger earlier this month. He earned his first quarterfinal appearance on the main tour this year in Los Cabos last month. The Moldovan is a familiar face in East Asia, having competed in and won a number of Challenger tournaments here. Despite a few performances in cities like Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Tokyo, he has yet to have a meaningful impact on tour-level events across the continent.
