The second seed Martina Trevisan will play against Anna Bondar in the quarterfinal round of Budapest Grand prix 2022 on Friday.
On Wednesday afternoon at Budapest’s Római Tennis Academy, second-seeded Italian Martina Trevisan defeated Ukrainian qualifier Kateryna Baindl 6-4, 7-5 to go to the round of eight. Natalia Szabanin, a wildcard from Hungary, was defeated by the Italian in the previous round of the Hungarian Open (2-6, 6-2, 6-0). Despite losing in round 1 of Wimbledon against Elisabetta Cocciaretto in straight sets, Trevisan will look forward to perform well in Budapest Grand prix.
The ninth-seeded Hungarian Anna Bondar defeated Greek qualifier Despina Papamichail 6-2, 6-3 on Wednesday night at the Római Tennis Academy in Budapest to move to the quarterfinals of the Hungarian Grand Prix. In the Hungarian Open’s preliminary round, the Hungarian defeated qualifier Jesika Maleckova of the Czech Republic (6-4, 6-4). Dalma Galfi of Hungary was upset by No. 195-ranked Papamichail (7-6 (4), 6-3).
Martina Trevisan and Anna Bondar will take on each other on Friday, July 15 in the quarterfinal of the 2022 WTA Budapest Grand Prix. The competition is scheduled to commence on July 11 and conclude on July 17 this year.
