In the ongoing Rio Open, he beat Juan Cerundolo in the first-round matchup by 5-7, 1-6, and Monteiro in the round-of-16 matchup by 5-7, 5-7. In the quarter-finals, he beat Dellien by 6-4, 1-6, 4-6.
