Felix Auger-Aliassime and Holger Rune will take on one another in the semi finals of the 2022 Paris Masters on Saturday, November 5.
Felix Auger-Aliassime defeated America’s Frances Tiafoe in straight sets to advance to his second ATP masters semifinal and first in Paris. Auger-Aliassime’s quarter-final victory on Friday extended his current winning streak to 16 matches, and he is now one win away from a fourth consecutive final. The Canadian has won three indoor titles in the last three weeks in Florence, Antwerp, and Basel and is in great shape to win a fourth in a row. The Canadian, who had lost all eight finals prior to this season, won his first ATP title this year in Rotterdam and also reached another indoor final in Marseille, but did not win the title.
Holger Rune, like Auger-Aliassime, continued his hot streak in Paris, reaching his first ATP 1000 semifinal. Although the Dane was brilliant in the quarterfinal, the victory did not come in a complete match because world number one Carlos Alcaraz was forced to retire in the second set due to an injury. Rune, like his Saturday opponent, had previously reached the finals of three tournaments. He finished second in Sofia, first in Stockholm, and then second in Basel last week, losing in straight sets to Auger-Aliassime. He has carried that form to Paris, where he has won four straight races. The 19-year-old has had a breakout season, winning two titles in four finals.
Felix Auger-Aliassime and Holger Rune are scheduled to take on one another in the semi finals of the 2022 Paris Masters on Saturday, November 5. The tournament is scheduled to be held from October 31 to November 6, 2022.
The ATP Paris Masters 2022 will have five rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The competition’s main draw is set to commence on October 31, 2022 and conclude on November 6, 2022.
