Alex De Minaur needs no introduction in terms of performances that has been going his way. In the last couple of months, the guy has not stepped a foot wrong and will be hoping that he can finally lift a title very soon. In recent months, he has already made it to the quarter-finals of the Rotterdam Open losing to Dimitrov, and the semi-finals of the Stockholm Open where he was beaten by Rune. At the Australian Open, he was looking really great until he faced the eventual champion, Djokovic getting knocked out by him in the fourth round. He shocked the entire world by lifting the Mexican Open beating the likes of Fritz, Rune, Taro Daniel, Berrettini, and Pacheco on the way. In the ongoing Barcelona Open, he beat Kubler in the first-round matchup by 6-0, 6-1, and in the round-of-16 matchup, he received a walkover against Dimitrov.
Stefanos Tsitsipas hasn’t looked at his best so far and the start of 2023 has been woeful for him as he looks for a change of fortune at the ongoing Barcelona Open. He lost to Djokovic at the Australian Open final after beating the likes of Khachanov, Lehecka, Sinner, Griekspoor, and Hijikata. At the Miami Open, he also made it to the round of 16 stage losing to Khachanov, and at the Monte Carlo Masters, he had to settle for a quarter-finals finish as he was knocked out by Fritz. At the ATP World Tour Finals, he could only achieve a single victory thereby failing to move onto the semis. His other performances involved a first-round loss at the Indian Wells Masters to Jordan Thompson and a round-of-16 finish at Rotterdam. In the ongoing Barcelona Open, he beat Cachin in the first-round matchup by 4-6, 2-6, and in the round-of-16 matchup, he beat Shapovalov by 3-6, 2-6.
