Carlos Alcaraz and Pablo Carreno Busta are scheduled to take on one another in the last eight of the 2022 ATP Swiss Indoors.
Carlos Alcaraz breezed through the final six games of a second round match against Botic van de Zandschulp on Wednesday at the Swiss Indoors Basel. The 6-4, 6-2 scoreline belies Alcaraz’s hard-fought victory. After a close first set decided by a single break, Alcaraz fell behind 0-2 in the second as the Dutchman made his first break. The second set saw five deuce games, but Alcaraz won four of them before serving out the match to love in just under 90 minutes. The Spaniard will face compatriot Pablo Carreno Busta in the last eight of the competition.
Carreno had his work cut out for him as he went up against Dominic Stephan Stricker in the second round at Basel on Thursday. The fifth seed scored seven aces and returned three out of six break points to win a tightly contested match 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 6-4.
Carlos Alcaraz and Pablo Carreno Busta are scheduled to take on one another in the last eight of the 2022 ATP Swiss Indoors on Friday, October 28. The tournament is scheduled to be held from October 23 to October 30, 2022.
The ATP Swiss Indoors 2022 will have five rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The competition’s main draw is set to commence on October 24, 2022 and conclude on October 30, 2022.
