Albert Ramos-Vinolas has not looked quite impressive in the last few months and looks to make a change of form in the Rio Open. He was knocked out of the first rounds in quite a few tournaments he participated in in the last few months such as the recent Argentina Open where he lost to Carballes Baena, to Cressy at the Australian Open, and to Millman at the Adelaide International 2. At the Paris Masters, he lost to Carreno as well in the round of 64 stage, and at the Cordoba Open, he was finally looking great making it to the semis before losing to Coria.
Tomas Etcheverry is no newcomer to this kind of tournament and has been a major threat to every opponent in the last few months as he has been in scintillating form. In the previous tournament, which was the Argentina Open, he made it to the quarter-finals losing to eventual runners-up Cameron Norrie. He will be absolutely desperate to go the distance this time at the ongoing Rio title. He couldn’t make it past the second round at the Australian Open losing to Sinner and at the Cordoba Open, he lost to Sousa right in the opening round itself. At the Adelaide International 2, he was knocked out by Kubler in the round of 32 stage.
