Albert Ramos-Vinolas has not looked quite impressive in the last few months and looks to make a change of form in the Rio Open. At the Paris Masters, he lost to Carreno as well in the round of 64 stage, and at the Cordoba Open, he was finally looking great making it to the semis before losing to Coria. In the ongoing Rio Open, he beat Etcheverry in the first-round matchup by 5-7, 6-4, 6-4, and Galan in the round-of-16 matchup by 6-2, 6-4.
Bernabe Zapata Miralles has been enjoying the scintillating form he has been in for the past few months and is a major threat to every opponent in the ongoing Rio Open. After getting knocked out by eventual champion, Alcaraz in the semi-finals of the Argentina Open, he will be absolutely desperate to clinch the Rio title. He couldn’t make it past the first round at the Australian Open losing to Khachanov and at the Cordoba Open, he was beaten by Barrios Vera in the round of 16 stage. At the Adelaide International 2, he was knocked out by Millman at the qualifying stage, and at Maharashtra Open, he lost to Carballes Baena in the opening round as well. In the ongoing Rio Open, he beat Munar in the first-round matchup by 3-6, 5-7, and Cerundolo in the round-of-16 matchup by 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.
