The WTA Lyon, now in its fourth year as a full-fledged Tour-level competition, boasts a strong field that might produce some thrilling contests. 2023’s WTA 250 competition will take place from January 30 to February 5th. It will be one of two WTA competitions taking place at the same time as the Thailand Open the week following the Australian Open. The Palais des Sports de Gerland, which has a main court that can accommodate roughly 6,000 spectators, will host the 2023 WTA Lyon Open. Since the Women’s Tour’s start in 2020, it has served as the tournament’s home. The competition was held in March of the previous year, but it has since been shifted back to the first week of February. Indoor hard courts will be used during the competition.

A 32-woman field will be present at the 2023 WTA Lyon Open. It is not surprising that Australian Open early exitees were vying for spots in this tournament’s main event. Numerous French athletes are competing on their home court, led by World No. 4 Caroline Garcia. The Top-50 contingent in the draw includes last year’s champion Shuai Zhang, Alize Cornet, Petra Martic, and Anastasia Potapova.
