The Hobart International, a WTA 250 competition, will hold its 28th edition on the picturesque island of Tasmania when the WTA tour arrives. Play in the main draw is set to begin on January 9. Prior to the competition, a number of top players have already arrived in the capital city. The field of competitors, which also features top seed Marie Bouzkova, Elise Mertens, Alize Cornet, and Magda Linette, will be led by former champion Sofia Kenin. Fans can anticipate a week of thrilling tennis action as players compete to win a few matches before the Australian Open, the year’s first Grand Slam.

The Hobart International, a WTA 250 competition, is one of the opening tennis events of the year and a part of the Australian Open circuit. It is held in Hobart, Tasmania. The tournament’s inaugural edition was planned back in 1994. At the most recent competition in 2020, Elena Rybakina won the trophy by defeating Zhang Shuai in the summit match. Petra Kvitova, Elise Mertens, Garbine Muguruza, and Sofia Kenin are some other ex-champions.
