Ciro Immobile scored an injury time goal to cancel out Pietro Pellegri’s opener and share the points. The Italian striker has moved on to 25 league goals for the season and sits on top of the top scorers list.
Prior to the Torino draw, Maurizio Sarri’s side registered two consecutive victories against Sassuolo and Genoa. Immobile’s hat-trick helped them to a 4-1 win at Genoa while goals from Manuel Lazzari and Sergej Milinkovic earned a 2-1 win against Sassuolo.
On the other hand, Milan are heading into the match on the back of a 3-0 defeat against their arch rivals in the Italian Cup semi-final fixture. However, Stefano Pioli’s side are unbeaten in 11 league games and desperately needs all three points to move back to the summit of the standings. Milan’s latest 2-0 league win against Genoa courtesy of goals from Rafael Leao and Junior Messias, was their seventh in the unbeaten streak.
Milan’s defence has been in stupendous form, having conceded just seven top-f;lighht goals in 2022, only Liverpool has shipped fewer throughout the top five European leagues during that time.
Lazio boss Sarri has few selection issues as some of his players are unavailable because of illness. Meanwhile Pedro and Patric are both expected to be unavailable due to muscular injuries. As for Milan, Simon Kjaer and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are sidelined with injuries while Alessandro Florenzi is a major doubt. Ante Rebic has returned to training and could feature on the bench.
Lazio possible starting lineup: Strakosha, Lazzari, Felipe, Acerbi, Marusic, Alberto, Leiva, Milinkovic-Savic, Anderson, Immobile, Zaccagni.
