The Asian Games or the Asiad is in full swing and the Indian contingent has performed exceptionally well in the continental showpiece. Added to that, India has also sent a very strong and large contingent to uphold the motto of “abki baar 100 paar” (this year we will cross the 100 medal mark). India has sent a strong contingent of 665 athletes.

India won gold in the squash event, the Men’s team finals. It was an epic final played out between India and its arch-rival Pakistan. Subsequently, the Indian hockey team also meted out the heaviest defeat (10-2) in the Pool A fixture. Additionally, India also won silver in the mixed team event shooting. However, what took everyone by surprise was when India thrashed heavyweights China in the sport of table tennis. Ahyika and Sutirtha created ripples in the sports world as they stormed into the semi-finals. On the other hand, the Indian men’s badminton team also is in the final and will face China. Currently, India is in the 4th position and has 37 medals overall. This includes 10 gold, 13 silver and 14 bronze.
