2022 Formula 2, Italian Grand Prix: Schedule, Timings and Live Streaming details

The FIA Formula 2 Championship is a 1st second-tier single-seater racing championship organized by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). The championship was introduced in 2017, following the rebranding of the long-term Formula One feeder series GP2. The series’ original founders were Flavio Briatore and current managing director Bruno Michel. While significantly slower than Formula One, the Formula 2 championship cars are faster than most other circuit racing vehicles. While roughly 15 seconds per lap slower than Formula One, is five seconds per lap faster than LMP1 sports cars and the more junior open wheeler category Formula 3.

The 2022 championship is the fifty-sixth season of Formula 2 racing and the sixth season run under the FIA Formula 2 Championship moniker. The category is run in support of selected rounds of the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship. As the championship is a spec series, all teams and drivers competing in the championship run the same car, the Dallara F2 2018. Prema Racing entered the championship as the reigning teams’ champion, having secured their title at the penultimate round of the 2021 season in Saudi Arabia.

Schedule

The FIA Formula 2 World Championship is run in support of selected rounds of the FIA Formula One World Championship. The Italian Grand Prix weekend starts on Friday 9th September at Monza and consists of two events: a free practice session and the qualifying for the Sprint race. Saturday we have the Sprint race followed by the main event race on Sunday.
