ONE Friday Fights 21 is the next episode of the promotion’s weekly offering at Bangkok’s famed arena. For the local audience, there will be 10 spectacular Muay Thai clashes, as well as a pair of mixed martial arts events to kick off the evening.
In the main event, Kongsuk Fairtex takes on Paidang Kiatsongrit in a battle of premier flyweights. Kongsuk, a two-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion and past Fighter of the Year will be a familiar favorite among Bangkok fans. The new star, on the other hand, will be tested to the maximum by his great opponent. Paidang has a 96-27-2 professional record, and his first ONE match against Batman Or Atchariya showed that he had the power and determination to overcome difficult bouts and emerge victorious.
In the last fight, Mongkolkaew Sor Sommai takes on Sonrak Sit Por Jor Wor for another flyweight Muay Thai battle between two intriguing sportsmen. Mongkolkaew was defeated in a thrilling ONE Friday Fights debut, and while Sonrak is 1-2 in the organization, every battle has been a thriller, so fireworks are expected in their key clash.
There are plenty of other enticing Muay Thai bouts on the event, including Road To ONE Thailand winner Yodphupa Wimanair’s fourth ONE Championship appearance. Yodphupa has a perfect 3-0 record, including back-to-back knockouts, and has been one of the major stars since the launch of ONE Friday Fights in January. The 19-year-old prodigy will now face Antar Kacem, a seasoned European Muay Thai star from Belarus who grew up in France and has already faced some of Thailand’s best.
The night’s MMA bouts should get things started in a big way, with Adilet Nurmatov defending his 11-2 record against Leonardo Casotti’s 9-3 record at featherweight, and unbeaten newcomer Yryskeldi Duisheev (6-0) taking on Magomed Magomedov and his 8-1 record at flyweight.
